New for 2015 is a switch from welded steel to a bolted aluminum frame.  Due to university and client concerns, welded aluminum is not an option for the engineering solution.  After several proposed concepts such as aluminum T-bar, square aluminum tubing, and bolted or glued joints, the final choice was to use 1" round tubing riveted together with sheet metal brackets.  This option was borrowed from the construction of lightweight aircraft and many of those design techniques were used as inspiration.
