Senior Design Team 4
The
Problem:
Winzeler gear needs a way to test their plastic gears on a dynamometer
at varying temperatures.
Our
Solution:
Our team
will design a custom environmental test chamber around the current dynamometer.
Design
Requirements:
·
Must be able to integrate with the
current Dynamometer
·
Needs to hold and environment of
-50-> 200 CO
·
The temperature needs to be held at
±1CO
·
Must be custom and aesthetic
·
Must be controlled using LabView
·
Needs to be wheeled and connect to
the Dynamometer
Deliverables:
Winzeler
Gear has requested the following items be delivered upon completion of this
project:
v
Environmental Test Chamber with all
sensors required to operate
v
LabView program used to control the
chamber
v
Instruction Manual
Our
team is currently brainstorming ideas on how best to fulfill the needs of
Winzeler Gear. At this stage in design, we are thinking of different
methods of heat addition and rejection as well as how to interface with the
Dynamometer. The key areas in this project are the interface with the
Dynamometer, the method of cooling, and the method of controlling the
temperature. In the following weeks, our team will begin to narrow ideas
down into a few ideas and become familiar with LabView and the factors that
will impact our project.
